Location
Bali Ginger Suites & Villa is in the heart of Seminyak. Our top recommendation? Explore! Here’s what’s nearby:
Seminyak Beach – Head west to enjoy swimming, surfing, or relaxing under palm trees with a fresh coconut. Visit at different times to experience the varying vibes!
Shopping – Walk to the end of Gang Ginger, turn left onto the small lane and left again. You’ll discover shops selling clothing, jewelry, decorations, incense, and more. There’s always something new!
Spas – Dozens of spas nearby! We recommend Spa Bali, Aspya, or Shampoo Lounge, but the industry is competitive so you’ll find great options everywhere.
Supermarkets – Bintang Supermarket, Cocomart, Pepitos, and Frestive are all within walking distance.
Handicrafts – Geneva Handicrafts, Krisna Oleh-oleh, Ebano, and Legian Art Market for souvenirs, Bintang T-shirts, $5 “Rolex” watches, and wooden crafts.
For restaurant recommendations, check our Where To Eat section.

Airport
Travel time to Ngurah Rai International Airport is approximately 30 minutes by car, but can be unpredictable. Better safe than sorry!
Arrival & Departure
Check-in 14:00
Early check in after midday is free of charge and subject to availability.
Check-out 11:00
Late check-out before 12:00 is free, subject to availability. Late check-out after 12 noon is charged at 80% of the room rate and subject to availability. After check-out, we can take care of your bags and you may continue to use the pool and Sweet Ginger Café until it is time for you to depart to the airport. If you require a late check-out please inquire at Front Desk the day before.
ATM & Money Changer
We recommend that you go to professional money changers on the main streets (they are glass fronted and have air-con). If the exchange rate looks too good to be true, then it is too good to be true. The nearest Money Changer is BMC Seminyak on Jl. Raya Seminyak (opposite Bintang Supermarket). There are a number of ATMs just around the corner on Jl. Camplung Tanduk. Danamon Bank issues the largest withdrawals of Rp 3,000,000. Other ATM’s vary. We recommend ATMs that are attached to a bank as they have security. There are many banks with ATMs on Jl Kerobokan. There are also ATMs inside Circle K convenience stores (eg Jl. Drupadi opposite Harris Hotel).
Books
Please feel free to borrow or exchange the books available on our shelves.
Breakfast & Meals
Breakfast is served at Sweet Ginger Cafe between 8:00 and 10:30 or it can be served beside the pool or delivered to your room. You can place your order by calling Front Desk. Give Gofood or Grabfood a try!
Bali Ginger Villa is equipped with a full kitchen. For an extra charge we can arrange for a cook to come and prepare lunch or dinner.
Car & Motorbike Hire
Our Front Desk staff can help you with car and motorbike rental. They can also help you with information about day tours.
Chemist/Pharmacy
Apotek is the local name for a pharmacy. There is an English speaking doctor at the nearby Kimia Farma, opposite Mama San Restaurant.
Clean and Green
We aim to be environmentally friendly so avoid using chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Our housekeeping staff use a chemical-free microfibre cleaning system which is safe for your health and the environment. We also choose to use soap dispensers to reduce plastic waste.
Coffee and Tea
There is complimentary filtered water, tea and bali coffee in your room.

Siloam, BIMC and SOS are the main international standard hospitals in Bali. Siloam is the closest on Sunset Rd. The other two are on the Sanur bypass, just off Sunset Road. There are also private hospitals such as Kasih Ibu. Bali Clinic is on Jl Laksmana 54 in Seminyak. You can also visit GP’s at their private rooms, often located beside Apoteks (Pharmacies). Doctors are available on call or at a nearby clinic. Dr Ristie Darmawan is western trained, has good English and was the director of BIMC. She is reliable and you can see her at her private clinic in Canggu. Contact details can be found under “Useful Phone Numbers”.

Hairdryer
There is a hair dryer in every bathroom.

Iron
Iron and ironing board is available on request.
Laundry
Our staff will kindly take your clothes to the nearby laundry. A price list is available and very affordable. Items received at Front Desk by 9am, Monday-Saturday will be returned the next day. Lost Property
If staff find anything it will be handed in and recorded. Please report any lost property. If you believe something may have been stolen we will assist you with making a police report.
Maintenance
Please report any maintenance issues to the Front Desk or housekeeping staff. We have full time maintenance staff so that we can act quickly if any problem arises.
Massages & In-Villa Spa Treatments
Spa Treatments are available in your suite by approved spa therapists. For your security, only approved suppliers of spa services have permission to enter Bali Ginger Suites & Villa. All visitors must register at Front Desk before entering. We have a comfortable massage table which can be set up in your room. Contact Front Desk for details.
Mini Bar
For your convenience we have stocked the fridge with a few drinks. Prices are in line with local supermarkets. You are welcome to bring your own drinks. You are responsible for all items consumed from the Mini Bar. Additional items can be purchased from Sweet Ginger Café. Housekeeping will keep a record of all items purchased. You can sign as you go and then please pay your final bill, the day before you are scheduled to checkout. See the drinks price below.
No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the bedrooms. Ashtrays are available for use in the open living areas.
Photocopies
Please contact Front Desk for charges and assistance.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Bali is changing and thankfully so are the waste management systems. There are many people now working to reduce the rubbish which will otherwise end up in the rivers and ocean. We care about the environment and so do the following:
• Provide free filtered water in every suite. Feel free to refill your reusable water bottle. Drink bottles are available for sale at the Front Desk.
• Linen and towels are changed twice a week, (unless requested otherwise).
• Our laundry uses biodegradable detergents and everything is dried in the sun whenever possible.
• Use refillable soap dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and dishwashing detergent.
• Since opening in 2012, we have not bought plastic bags to line rubbish bins etc. Instead we use reusable bins and wash them.
• We are committed to educating our staff and continue to find new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle to the benefit of our guests and Bali.
• And here is one you might chuckle about: encourage Balinese offerings to include organic items only so discourage food wrapped in plastic. The gods don’t like plastic either.
Reviews
If you enjoyed your stay, we hope you will tell your friends. If you have a problem, please tell us. Reviews do make a difference and should you take the time to write a review we thank you. We are a small family business and are always looking for ways to improve so welcome your feedback. If you have any suggestions or comments about your holiday at Bali Ginger Suites & Villa we would love to hear from you. Talk to Dina our manager or email holiday@tropical-infusions.com.
Safety Box
Every bedroom has a safe which we recommend guests use. As is the case in most countries, do not leave valuables in the open and remember to lock your rooms. On arrival the safety box code will be set to 123A. Enter your code by following these instructions;
- Press the red button on the inside of the safe door near the hinge.
- You will hear the beeps and the yellow PROCEED light will come on.
- Enter a 3 or 4 digit code. To end press “A” or “B”. Eg ‘123A’. Do not use ‘0’ as this will result in an error.
- After you have entered the new code the green READY light will come on. You can now close the safe.
Security
Bali Ginger Suites & Villa has staff at the property 24 hours a day who monitor guests and other visitors. CCTV cameras cover the parameters of the property and the entrance to Bali Ginger Suites & Villa. Every suite has a safety box.
Social Media
We love sharing photos and stories about what is happening at Ginger and Bali.
We hope you like us on Facebook and Instagram, and we would also love it if you cared to share some some of your photos with us of your holiday.

Spirituality
A temple at our entrance provides spiritual protection for staff and guests. You’ll see daily offerings and ceremonies throughout Bali, especially during full moons. Highlights include Galungan (towering bamboo penjors every 6 months) and Nyepi (Day of Silence with demonic parades the night before, followed by island-wide stillness—even the airport closes). Nearby Petitenget beach temple welcomes respectful visitors. Our staff represent Indonesia’s diversity: Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Catholic, and Buddhist. Ask them about ceremonies during your stay.
Suites & Villa
All suites surround a shared pool with comfortable beds, air-con, living areas, and kitchenettes. Choose from poolside suites (1-3 with private gardens), terrace suites (4-5), upstairs balcony suites (6-7), romantic Double Happiness Suite, or 2-bedroom Bali Ginger Villa with private pool. Double Happiness + Villa creates a 3-bedroom option. Groups up to 20 can book any combination.
Taxi, Gojek & Grab
Taxis are affordable (Rp 30,000 minimum covers most of Seminyak/Legian). Keep small bills ready and request the meter. Phone bookings are tracked for safety. Grab and Gojek apps offer cheaper rides plus delivery services, though taxis can be more convenient and comfortable.
Tips
Tipping is not required or expected, though it is appreciated. If you wish to, you can leave tips with Front Desk to be divided amongst the staff. We encourage our staff to work as a team and believe that every job plays an important part of providing the excellent standard guests enjoy when staying at Bali Ginger Suites & Villa.
Towels
Towels and linen are changed twice a week or as requested. Pool towels are beside the swimming pool. Please do not take any bath or pool towels from the premises. Beach towels are available in the beach basket in your room. Lost or missing towels will be added to your bill.
Umbrellas
Umbrellas are available for your use from the Front Desk. Lost umbrellas will be charged to your bill. If you love our big red umbrellas, you can buy one for Rp 200,000 with the proceeds going to MyRedEnvelope Foundation.
Wake-up Calls
We recommend simply waking up when you feel like it, but, if you do need a wake up call, you know who to ask? The Front Desk of course. We never sleep…
Yoga
Yes there are some good choices for Yoga in Seminyak. Just around the corner, in easy walking distance is Yoga 108 on Jl Drupadi No. 108. They offer a variety of different classes depending on the day and time, have a walk by and you’ll find it written up on a chalk board. All levels welcome.
Where To Eat
Seminyak offers excellent international dining (Italian, Mexican, French, Japanese, Greek) and nearby pubs, but we’re highlighting regional favorites within 15-20 minutes’ walk, great for lunch or dinner.
Right at our entrance are wonderful, budget-friendly local spots—please support our street!
Check Google Maps for directions and hours. Not feeling like walking? Our staff can arrange transport or book for you.
WACKO My type of name for a lunch place. It is just around the corner and is basically a burger place, but I am willing to say it is probably the best burger place in Bali. Highly recommend the Zen Burger, but you can tailor the burgers to your needs.
Warung Taman Bambu This authentic warung serves buffet-style Indonesian dishes—choose your rice (white, yellow, or brown), point at what looks good, and don’t skip the perkedel jagung (corn cakes) with their incredible sweet red sambal. Expect to pay $2-5 for a complete meal.
Cendana Located 200m from the beach, Cendana offers delicious Indonesian food in a rustic setting with street-side seating or garden tables by the pool (BYO bathers!). Pro tip: ask for sambal matah (fresh chili, shallots, garlic) or sambal merah to elevate any dish.
Chai’ba Seminyak has rapidly emerged as a popular place to open an Indian restaurant and we are loving it. Chai’ba stands above all the other options for us. It has a sophisticated edge to it and the entire operation is very professional and reasonably priced.
Jackson Lily is fantastic. Chef Dean Keddel has created an innovative menu and it is matched by the purpose built restaurant. They have a selection of set menus for two or more which is an excellent way to enjoy the menu’s diversity, and they also have an innovative cocktail menu infused with local flavours. If you are heading down Eat Street (Jl Kayu Ayu) their sister restaurant, Ginger Moon, is also wonderful.
Bloom Apart from great food, terrific service and an elegant design, the next thing on my cafe wishlist is a garden, and Bloom provides. Right in the arterial centre of Seminyak with Bintang Supermarket as a close neighbour, Bloom is a bit of a sanctuary. It manages to squeeze a lot of variety into its menu which is ideal for a flirty lunch, but would work well for dinner too. The salads are fresh and there is something for everyone on the menu.
Mama San A Seminyak institution for over 15 years, Mama San delivers bold Southeast Asian flavors in a 1920s Shanghai-inspired setting with green banquettes, chandeliers, and intimate low lighting. Choose from the main dining room, Thai-leaning omakase at the chef’s counter, or the upstairs speakeasy lounge with vinyl DJs and craft cocktails.
Vietnam Bistrot by Mama Hanh Located at Bintang Supermarket, Mama Hanh has created an unexpected addition to the Seminyak food scene. Authentically Vietnamese, and featuring a vegetarian menu on request, her food is fresh and the menu is lively. Best place to combine grocery shopping and lunch, but also perfect for dinner.
La Lucciola Just beyond easy walking distance, but worth the sunset stroll—head to the beach, turn right, and keep going until you spot a grassed area in the sand dunes with 4-5 coconut palms, just before a small river. If I were leaving Bali for the last time, this is where I’d gather everyone for a final meal and sunset…
Chandi You may have noticed that I haven’t really profiled Seminyak’s fabled “Eat Street”, but that’s not because I don’t recommend it, it’s because you will no doubt find it for yourself. But I do highly recommend Chandi for its pan-asian menu and comfortable setting. Their sate platters are great for sharing, and they do have a vegetarian option.
What To Do
Our staff at the Front Desk are available to help with any questions you may have about activities and day trips you might like to do during your holiday in Bali. We try to recommend activities which we have direct experience of, however, in the end we take no responsibility for the services provided.
For the adventurous of spirit try Elephant Safari Park, White Water Rafting, Cycling down Kintamani, Quad Bike Adventures or Water Sports of all sorts.
For families we suggest Waterbom Park, Cycling tours, Bali Bird Park and Reptile Park, Butterfly Park, Bali Safari Park, Learn to Surf, Horse Riding, Kecak Dances and Sunset at the temple at Tanah Lot or Uluwatu.
For the more relaxed visitors Yoga classes, Learning to Cook Indonesian food, Massage, Pedicure, Manicure and another Massage, lunch in Ubud, at sunrise take a long walk on the beach, at sunset find a spot on the bean bags at Seminyak Beach, shopping and a massage or Learn Salsa dancing.
Bali offers dining for every budget. Near our entrance find Warung Kecil (end of Gang Ginger) and options along Jalan Camplung Tanduk. The beachfront has casual cafés and upscale Chez Gado Gado. Jalan Drupadi leads to legendary Jalan Kayu Aya (Eat Street) with Indonesian, Italian, Mexican, Greek, and Japanese restaurants. Where To Eat.
From local markets (Legian, Ubud Art Markets) with persuasive hawkers offering “special morning price” all day, to fixed-price malls (Mall Bali Galeria, Discovery Mall and Trans Studio Mall). Seminyak features boutiques with original designs, global brands near Seminyak Village, tailors for custom pieces, and along Jl Kerobokan—furniture, carved marble baths, and everything shippable. Enjoy the haggling!
And finally, don’t be afraid to do nothing at all. Sleep in, laze around the pool, mooch in front of the TV, take that book you brought with you out of the bag and fall asleep on the sun lounge before you even open it, ignore your emails, daydream, get a massage delivered to your door.
