If people are smiling, I am having a good day, and doing my job well. I love helping people, and as the Manager at Bali Ginger Suites & Villa, that is kind of my job description.
Smiles are actually one of the most common things mentioned in our guest reviews, so I really worried about having to wear masks during covid. My idea was to make something beautiful to go with the mask. That’s where the idea for the mask-keeper band came from.
I like crafts and I like keeping busy, so while we were quiet with guests I really needed a project. Doing the bead work is a nice relaxing activity. People order and I try and make a design that fits for them, put it in the mail, and wait for a photo once they receive it.
It’s not the same as a smile, but I still am being useful and getting to help people. There is a saying in Indonesia which is “Smile is power”, and I am proud to be a powerful Indonesian woman.
